jimmypage replied to your post: You know how when you were little you would get really emotional when you couldn’t understand school work? Like, you would start crying because you didn’t get long division or something?
UGH. Foreign languages are my greatest weakness. I can teach myself math, I can teach myself science, aviation physics, but I’ll be damned if I could ever teach myself...

That’s me everyday, almost eighteen years old, as a home schooled student.
I do a good bit of this shit(and yes, it is shit) alone and it kicks my ass. Wouldn’t trade my educational setup for the world(h8 public skool), but holy shit. Just holy shit.

You guys, I am in a straight up tizzy thinking...
Because I don’t know what the fuck I’m gonna do. I’ve thought about taking a year off after I graduate to kind, I don’t know, “get my shit together” but I don’t want to be complacent and bored for an entire year(and I know that’s what would happen if I weren’t in school). I don’t know why I’m freaking out either considering...

mtv doesn’t recognize rock, alternative, or new artists anymore it seems. has tool ever won a vma? American music still has glimpses of life but mtv doesn’t see them.
Who listens to Tool? Is it 1999?
Tool winning a Moon Man is obviously the American Dream™

Okay I think I should point out that I'm in no way...
I should I have worded the previous post differently or at least bolded the point in it that stuck out to me which was thinking ~critically~(or whatever you want to call it) about “”“”“”“”art”“”“”“”” and things of that nature and when I say that, I’m not trying to get anyone to look for a deeper...
since this debate is happening again

here’s my two cents:
it doesn’t matter how offensive an artist is or isn’t. As long as you are thinking critically about their art (as your should be with all aspects of culture) and work to contextualize their music in a way that makes sense to you it doesn’t matter what art you enjoy. Everyone should just really chillax and realize that everyone intereacts...
